May = Mental Health Awareness Month

Hey, everyone. Did you know that may is mental health awareness month? What does that even mean? Well, Mental Health Awareness Month is the month set aside, in order to promote healthy mental well being.

Many of you probably think, "oh, I don't even need to worry about that". But this video is for those people who think that they may need to get some mental treatment and don't know where to turn. Or if you don't think you need it, you may be able to share this video with someone else.

There are three very simple ways to get mental health treatment without walking through the door of a counselor's office, because some people just cannot get their mind wrapped around that. A few ways that you can do that is by reaching out to your human resources or your manager, in case there is an employee assistance program built in to any portion of your Employee Benefits Program. an EAP or employee assistance program is a free service, paid for by your employer, and is completely confidential. In order to help your employees be able to seek mental treatment, have financial service advice, receive doctor's recommendations or treatment for other kinds of services.

A second way that you might be able to receive any sort of mental health counseling or therapy is by using your telemedicine service offer through tour health insurance program. telemedicine like web and D healthiest you and others offer therapeutic counseling at the same price as your copay for a regular doctor's visit, or sometimes a specialist visit.

Finally, the third way that you can anonymously receive mental health treatment is by using any of the web apps that are available in your smartphone on your Apple Play or Google Play stores. one that comes to mind off the top of my head is Sonder Mind, it's a great service that allows you to talk to a counselor on your smartphone, video chat or telephonically without having to worry about getting your car driving, or making an appointment and in sometimes just getting overwhelmed with the process. Now I know that we all enjoy confiding and our significant others or our friends or our I don't know co workers, but it's important that you understand that talking to a license person through those troublesome times that you may or may not be in at the time can definitely make a difference on your outlook, and your mindset, and your all over well being.

Now I'm Niki Trentacosta and I'm president of The Tanna Group. I'd love to help you find services if you need to, or if you're interested in learning about what your employee benefits program might entail for mental health therapy or treatment. I hope that you'll reach out to me. I look forward to talking to you about your employee benefits needs, and until we do speak, I hope that you stay happy, stay healthy, and of course, please be sure to wash your hands. Bye. #employeebenefits #mindset #BeKindToYourMind #MentalHealth
